-Approx 380 West Windham Road, Jamaica, Vermont
-visited June 2017
-.2 miles each way
-easy/moderate
-no bathroom
-nearby: Lye Brook Falls, Pikes Falls, Buttermilk Falls
-notes:
-large dirt parking shoulder on the side of the road, free, no sign
-trail starts on the opposite side of the road from the parking area, no sign but easy enough to spot
-trail is not marked and can be hard to distinguish, the falls are really close to the road, almost roadside, so carefully navigate the side of the falls once reached.
-do NOT take Turkey Mountain Road to get here, cruddy dirt road that gets worse as you drive
-roads to here are half paved half dirt, and some of the paved ones are covered in stones and dirt so they are not the smoothest to drive on
-large amount of water even in low water
-beginning of trail has a slight incline and minimal stepping
-once top of falls is reached, trail becomes steep, slick and full of leaves, roots, etc. Requires a lot of stepping and use caution.
-lots of bugs (may be due to recent rainstorm or late time of day?)
-people swim in it, NOT ADVISED, people have died here, someone installed a ladder in the upper portion of the falls
-short trail, almost roadside
-trail is mainly shaded, falls is all sun
-trees starting to overgrow / obstruct view
-no debris in falls
-more of a 'slide' than a 'falls', cuts in to the rocks
-not enough elevation at the base to capture a good full view of the falls
