Franconia Falls – NH (Waterfall)

-visited June 2018
-Lincoln Woods Sign, Route 112 Kancamangus Highway, Lincoln, New Hampshire
-3.2 miles each way
-easy
-real bathrooms
-nearby: Bridal Veil Falls, Georgianna Falls, Lower Falls
-notes:
-giant paved parking lot, pay to park
-beginning of trail is old rail road bed, so it’s very flat with no stepping, and no incline
-last half mile? is a narrow trail through the woods that has minor incline and some stepping, some rocks and exposed roots
-trail is well marked and easy to follow
-trail is very easy but long
     -entire trail is shaded
     -falls is in sun
-in low water can walk through the falls, but in high water cannot, has a very strong current and people have died here.
-some of the views are better from the other side of the river, but have to walk through the river in order to get there. There is no other way/access
-has multi tiers, water falls over and through slabs of rocks, has created slides, no real “falls” just cascaded and slides
-“good” views can be hard to get because of the way it flows in between the rocks
     -no debris in falls
     -has some bugs
     -can bring dogs
