-Approx 100 Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield, Massachusetts
-visited August 2016
-approx 6 miles round trip
-moderate
-real bathroom at first summit (north)
-notes:
-dirt and paved parking, pay to park
-dirt parking at base, paved parking at summit
-climb to first summit is steep, trail zig zags, some man made stairs, roots and some level dirt portions. Constant incline but is a short trip up
-summit has a lot of fencing to keep people from falling
-summit has a building / observation tower which provides a better view, 180 degree view over valley
-summit also has picnic tables
-continue trail down a steep hill to complete first mountain, and to begin second one
-second mountain is minimal stepping but is a steep direct incline made is slick loose soil and brush. This is off trail
-marked trail includes a lot of ups and downs and stepping that goes out, about and around. The steep off-trail trail is a lot of cardio, but is more direct and the better option.
-trails are half shade, half sun
-overall a fairly easy hike that is a little rough on the legs/cardio
-second summit has a good limited view, its a slight opening in the trees, maybe 90 degree view
-dog friendly
