-visited throughout year
-varying length due to multiple trails, .5 miles - 1.5 miles per trail
-easy
-has real bathrooms and porta potties
-has picnic area, grills, kids playground, nature center
-nearby: Douglas State Forest and Hodges Village Dam are within 15 minutes of here
-notes:
-paved parking lot - pay to park from late spring to early fall
-chasm is cooler in temperature, tends to be muddy, is a no go in winter without proper shoes - chasm itself is "closed" during winter, and has some caves. It is the shortest route being a half mile long. It is very rocky, and requires a lot of stepping and some scrambling. Rocks can be slick.
-other trails vary in length, have a few minor hills
-trails are full of stones and roots, they are eroding more and more as the years pass. Some stepping is required.
-has a small waterfall at little purgatory. needs a lot of rain to see it, it tends to be dried up. It also has a lot of debris in it, so not the most impressive.
-gets very buggy (mosquitoes) during the summer, wear lots of bug spray
-every few years one can find numerous lady slippers along the trails
-dog friendly
