-dirt parking lot, free
-beginning is an open field and picnic tables so you can lounge, eat, frisbee, etc.
-can walk the railroad bed along the river or walk through the meadows
-minimal shade coverage so wear sunscreen
-had no bugs, but it was a warm day in the middle of winter
-trails were flat, and required no stepping, had hardly any inclines either
